The company's core focus is the cultivation and advancement of Giant King Grass (GKG), a specialized and highly versatile biomass and energy crop. GKG boasts numerous applications: it can be combusted in dedicated biomass power plants to generate electricity; processed into pellets that, when co-fired with coal, significantly reduce carbon emissions from existing facilities; converted into biomethane through anaerobic digestion; and utilized as a crucial feedstock for the production of low-carbon liquid biofuels for transport, various biochemicals, bioplastics, and even animal feed. Established in 1998, VIASPACE Inc. is based in Santa Cruz, California.
