THE COMPANY BEHIND THE TICKER
Northern 2 VCT PLC functions as a venture capital trust, primarily dedicated to growth capital investments through both direct equity stakes and commitments to other private equity funds. For its direct investments, the fund targets a broad spectrum of stages, including early-stage, middle-market, later-stage, mature, and buyout opportunities. Its fund of funds strategy involves allocating capital to various private equity funds. The VCT prioritizes investments in unlisted and AIM-quoted companies located within the United Kingdom. It maintains a flexible sector approach, considering all manufacturing and service industries, with the explicit exclusion of real estate. Typically, investments range from £2 million to £10 million (equivalent to $3.1 million to $15.57 million), targeting companies with enterprise values between £10 million and £30 million (approximately $15.57 million and $46.77 million). The trust generally seeks to acquire a majority ownership position. Furthermore, it invests in companies established for less than seven years, or up to ten years for those classified as knowledge-intensive businesses.
