The iShares Currency Hedged MSCI Switzerland ETF (HEWL) is designed to mirror the financial performance of the MSCI Switzerland 25/50 100% Hedged to USD Index. To achieve this objective, the fund typically commits at least 90% of its assets to the securities that compose this underlying index – either directly, through other investment vehicles, or by holding instruments with nearly identical economic profiles. The index itself is predominantly made up of equities traded on the Zurich Stock Exchange, with a crucial feature being that the inherent currency fluctuation risk of these holdings against the U.S. dollar is systematically hedged on a monthly basis.
