THE COMPANY BEHIND THE TICKER
OPNET Technologies Co., Ltd., founded in 1991 and headquartered in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, is a global provider specializing in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of telecommunication network access and optical transport infrastructure. The company's reach extends internationally, with a significant presence in Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, and India. Its business operations are structured into two primary divisions: Access Network and Broadband Equipment, and Transmission Equipment. OPNET offers a comprehensive suite of products for access networks, including Digital Loop Carriers (DLC), E1/IP multiplexers, Multi-Service Access Nodes (MSAN/SVG), compact Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexers (Mini-DSLAM), Voice over IP (VoIP) gateways, power meters, and Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) solutions. For transmission networks, the company supplies advanced systems such as Coarse/Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM/DWDM/ROADM), carrier-grade switching platforms, fiber optical multiplexers, Time-Division Multiplexing over Packet Switched Networks (TDMo PSN) devices, Ethernet over PDH converters, and G.SHDSL.bis bridges/routers. Beyond these core offerings, OPNET also develops optic sensor technologies, provides a range of distribution network components (e.g., telecom cables, Optical Distribution Frames (ODF/FDC), Fiber Optic Splice Closures (FOSC), Fiber Distribution Panels (FDP/FDB), and associated panel boxes and accessories), and implements complete submarine cable systems. Furthermore, they engineer integrated solutions for access networks, E1/IP-mux access, optical distribution networks, and mobile fronthaul applications. OPNET Technologies serves a diverse client base, which includes incumbent fixed-line telecommunications operators, mobile network providers, cable television companies, utility firms, private enterprises, and military organizations.
